The introduction into the owner’s manual perfectly. Rode said that when looking for a good microphone video camera, were both horrible pieces of junk or super-expensive professional models and so have decided to design a microphone for this purpose. This model achieves a perfect balance. The quality of this microphone is excellent. It ‘very sensitive and has good directional properties in a way that rejects the noise from the side pretty well. Although not meant to pick up sound from long distance that can do very well from 20 feet away and maybe more.
The mount is attached to the microphone so this is the only way you can use, and is made to fit the standard “shoe” that is found in almost all cameras. This is a mono microphone, but it is a miniphone stereo jack that plugs into the jack microphone and camera feeds the audio into both channels. After trying several microphones less I was pleased to Stumble Upon this microphone. It ‘a good value and an ideal microphone for video cameras.

Having spent several days combing the Internet and reading review after review I decided to give the RODE VideoMic directional microphone video camera evidence. I wanted something that was good, the light, a bit ‘short and inexpensive. I have a small mini DV camera, which is only about 5 inches long and do not want a microphone that would get my shots in the viewfinder. Microphone protrudes about 5 centimeters in front of my goal, but manages to stay out of my shots.
First let me comment on the sound. This little turd collects sounds very good. In a quiet room can be 40 meters away and still take the conversation. The quality is exceptional. The audio than the built-in microphone in my camera is day and night. The Rodeo is so clear. Price is great. I’m guessing the quality is compared with other microphones in the range of $ 300.
My Rode Dead Cat came with a wind screen that reminds the tail of a cat. Really saved me some ‘money! At first I did not use the cat died, but then I came across a bit ‘of wind that interfered with the collection of a good audio. After using a dead cat, I have always wind screen on the microphone. It does not interfere with the clarity of sound and it works incredibly well in windy conditions. I will say that I had to cut the hair on my wind shield because I could see the hair on my video. After cutting his hair a bit ‘, the screen is still effective and no wind hair dangling at the top of my screen video.
The design of vibration shock is fresh and I even gave extra rubber band thingies. This microphone sits high off the camera and stays out of my shots. Since the microphone is a bit ‘out of the camera, I do not take any camera humming noise that can occur with other microphones that are too close to the camera. Even my implant, I get no hum.
I wish I could say that I used the $ 300 mics and, especially, but I have not. I must say that you will not be disappointed with this microphone. I am a photojournalist by trade and I started to shoot video for publication in our newspaper websites. This microphone is perfect for my needs.
