Customer Reviews For Ultimate Ears MetroFi 200 Noise Isolating Earphones

By TD (Pittsburgh, PA)
This review is about the Ultimate Ears Metro.fi 200 series. I got this about 1 month ago from an “anonymous” website deal for $ 30. By far the best purchase I made for headphones. I previously owned a few pairs of Shure E2C, the V-Moda Bass Freq earphones, and numerous cheapos.
I wear these around the city on a daily basis (Go Steelers), and in a loud voice around hospitals and buses,-16dB isolation stand true. This does not mean that it hears the noise, but do not ignore your music. It ‘true, I struggled to find the tips that provided isolation earphones better with the best bass response (I prefer a little’ stressed, but really developed the bass response). Ultimately, I stuck with those that came stock on it (even though they were not the lowest).
These are comfortable, versatile, and faithful to the sound of your music. I like having a “slider” to tame the ropes a bit ‘, and you can get them easily by wrapping the cord around the ear (shown in the video).
I’m quite the audiophile, but simply can not afford a nice pair of headphones $ 500 (which may ?!?). These are as close as you’re going to get to a nice pair of double-or triple-driver earbuds without spending the kind of money that are traditionally charged. The frequency response of these is true for the specification. They have a clear sound and I could hear some background add-in that I had finished it hard to hear in my music before. I am a studio engineer for the trade, and I know that a good sound. Although these are not the best style headphones I’ve ever used, which far outperform E2Cs Shure, V Moda Bass Freqs, E4Cs Shure, SCL2s and the new M-Audio imitation EU monitors.
All in all, I’d buy another pair of these, if they have broken – no questions asked.
Enjoy the music!

(Caveat: this review is for the Metro.Fi 200 with microphone in line, I think it applies here, too, though)
As a carrier of several different models of in ear monitors over the years, from Nu-Force Fontopias economic NE-7M midrange, Shures some low-end (I forget the model number, but I got them for $ 109 about 2 years ago …) I feel like I’ve had enough exposure to the variety out there for comment. I’ll provide a point of view on these three points of view, with an overall value for the grading of money at the end.

Sound Quality: 8.5/10
Obviously this is the most important aspect of any headphones / headset. I find that these are fantastic. Comparison with the Nu-Force NE-7ms are certainly a lot cooler, but still have super low. The Nu-Force and Shures were good, but the Nu-Force were enough “mud” and lacks the clarity of the EU’s. Shure sound quality is excellent too. I remember being struck by how the Shures as I was with these EU’s. Overall I give the EU was a 8.5/10

Comfort: 6 / 10 (or 9 / 10 with rubber alternatives “ear”)
This is where I miss my old Sony Fontopias. Compared to Sony, the UES does not seem to fit my ears as well. Prvide make a good seal, eithrr inclusion in standard or “around the ear placement type. I noticed that I’m going to put them back when I’m in the gym because it tends to lose their seal after a lot of facial contortions, or movement of the cable. Shures compared to the EU are large. The Shures were just uncomfortable. With the rubber “ear” on condition that the EU are comfortable for about an hour a day. They tend to leave my ears feel bruised after a long period of wear. I could wear the Sonys all day without any problems. After changing the standard rubber “ear” for those that came with my old Sonys, the UES fit much better. Fortunately, it seems as if the EU and Sony use the same size “ear” and fit well. They are also often annoyed by the fact that the button was in the middle of the rope, which means it tends to accidentally pressed the button when I’m in the gym. I prefer to insert the button with the microphone as the models of Apple to do. Furthermore, if the EU has provided with the attacks of rubber Sony, had higher score, btu because I can not give them a 6 / 10.

Duration: – 10/10
I’ve had them for about 6 months and are still as new. I also accidentally standing on one (at the moment with my shoes with rubber soles on a wooden floor) and appears undamaged. 10/10 for durability.

Value for money: 9 / 10
I got these when they were on sale on Amazon for $ 25. This can not be beat. If available at this price again, I’d probably buy another set for my wife. And maybe another as a backup for when I accidentally stand on these once again …
