Great TV...Just Make Sure You Don't Sit a Foot Away
This tv is wonderful. The image quality is phenomenal and looks great in my room. Assembling the base was a bit difficult, as the screws that screw the TV into the base were a little too big for the holes. Overall, it probably took me 20-30 minutes to get it together, but after that everything was pretty self explanatory.

I consider myself a gamer, and bought this HD tv to replace the other plasma I had bought. When playing a game on my old TV with my Xbox 360, there was noticable lag between controller movement and response time. But with this television, and the "Game Mode" feature turned on, I experience negligible lag, if any (I may be over analyzing the response time in games now that I am looking for it). HD games look gorgeous on this television.

The sound is OK. It's a lower/mid end HDTV, so I wasn't expecting amazing quality. You can hear the TV just fine, albeit perhaps needing to raise the volume just a little more than you initially want. This shouldn't really detract from the television, however.

The "buzzing" that many have experienced is definitely present, but it's not a death sentence. The other plasma I had made the same noise, but i admit it was a lot quieter. However, you really only hear the sound when close to the television. The sound tends to become white noise pretty quickly when further away (like 6 or more feet) to the point that I don't hear it until I concentrate on it. For those who are sensitive types in terms of sound, or you are going to be in a small room where you are close to the television, you probably won't want this TV. Also, if you aren't planning on playing games with this TV, I would probably look into some other ones. It's great for both gaming and watching HDTV, but if I could eliminate the initial buzzing, I would. Otherwise, I would go for it.

This television has a great picture! I have 2 of these tv's now and love them. We have a blu-ray hooked to both and the picture is stunning. And the price can't be beat!

Excellent TV for the price
I purchased this TV two weeks ago. I just got finished with a break-in dvd so it has 100+ hours on it now. The picture is great with HD content and with the Playstaion 3. Luckily I did not receive a 'buzzing' unit. There is a slight hum when you put your head right next to the screen but once you back away you cannot hear it. Shipping was through Pilot. I was very pleased with the delivery and the help unpacking. They called the day of the delivery to confirm the appointment and arrived at the schedule timed. Overall, I am extremely happy with the purchase. The price and quick shipping cannot be beat. No negatives as of now.

Exceptional TV
Great TV. Couldn't ask for anything more. My eyes were in love the first time I watched anything on it.

The only cons I can think of is that it gets really hot. Even hotter to the touch on a warmer day. I think a lot of plasmas are like this though.
And when building the set, all the screw holes were done really poorly. The threads don't take the screw in correctly so you will be stripping them even more. Takes some muscle to get them in and it still goes in crooked. I have looked past this because I don't have to deal with it which lets me enjoy my TV all the more.

Amazon horrible service
Ordered TV on June 7 and it was delivered 5 days later cracked. The carrier CEVA did not do white glove delivery even though it was wriiten all over the box. Delivery man said he did not have time. Contacted Amazon for replacement and the order was placed promptly,but due to the first TV arriving cracked I asked if they could expedite delivery. Told No. TV arrived on the 17th and the delivery company (CEVA again) called to schedule delivery. We asked for a Saturday delivery since no one could take off from work again and was told no. Monday thru Friday only. Called Amazon for support was on hold for an hour and told sorry nothing they could do. I asked for help from a supervisor and was told they would call me back. Never called back. Called again on Friday for support and finally got to someone who only had to authorize the delivery and it was finally delivered Friday night.Long time Amazon customer, but if this is their new way of doing business I probably won't return.

Just got the TV today! It ‘came a day before, which was a pleasant surprise. Once I fired it up, I was ecstatic with this set. The quality is amazing for the price, the picture blows away a top of the line 42 “1080p LCD I’ve seen. Strong colors, high contrast, smooth motion … there’s nothing not to like! Streaming Spartacus off Netflix, and compared to my little old 22 “LCD is truly came to life. (Even if writing is really bad)

It ‘been able to find some basic cable channels in HD, which is awesome, and Modern Warfare 2 looks simply amazing (again, much better than that on the 42 “and 22″ LCD.)

The sound is decent, it is actually better than I expected. And ‘obviously no home theater, but I was impressed. Has some connection that are not listed on Amazon … the 3 HDMI, 1 PC, 1 USB, 1 Component, 1 Dual Component / Composite, audio in 1 / 8 “Audio Out 1 / 8″, Optical out, and cable. The menu is very easy to navigate and adjust, and it is possible to disable startup / shutdown sound if you find it irritating. It’s kinda soothing though.

One negative I found is that the audio output stroke volume is not controlled by television, I think is pretty standard, but it means low-cost computer speakers are not very good. (No remote) when you install the base of support he felt as if I were about to destroy the threads on the screws that are used … are not easy to get away!

It ‘very elegant and looks great in my living room. It is not super bright, I love (LCDs eyes hurt after a while ‘) All in all, money is a fantastic TV. I was looking for quality, value and style.

I’m really impressed with this TV. I’ve been looking for some LCD and Plasma ‘and found this to be the best HDTV for the price. I had the chance to check it out at a local retailer before and compared to other televisions in a store that is completely separate. Picture was much better than the 1080 models that were more than twice the price. Sony has shown next to people with gray suits, while it was deep black and vibrant color. Specifications (2 million: 1 contrast, 600Hz) blow away anything that I found in this range and the image is simply fantastic. Also you can not beat this price!

I ordered this TV on a night of Tuesday, received on Thursday and the boy took him to my door (4th floor walkup in New York). I guess Beach Camera should receive the credit there.

TV set and was able to find a lot of HD channels and canals have not had before, so this is a big plus. I must say, as the revision of others, the installation of the stand was a pain in the ass. I do not think the holes were drilled out completely, but I managed.

The sound is great, no buzzing or anything. It ‘very sleek and stylish and makes my room look great. Menu is very easy to navigate and view pictures with a card reader or USB is a breeze. Just plug it in and you have several options for presentations with music and other options. PC input is also very easy to connect.

You will not be disappointed. Especially with free shipping, no tax (at least for me) and the price amazon large, this HDTV can not be beat!

Everything was fine for about a month and a half and then I started noticing faint gray streaks on television, only visible if the background is a solid, light color, like during an ice hockey match or a blue sky, for example.
I could not go on set, as a month had passed, so I contacted Samsung about getting it repaired or replaced under warranty. Sent a third-party technology that has been checked and confirmed the lines and he explained it to Samsung.
Samsung claims that the problem has to do with the EMI filter and the anti-reflective coating, which is on the outside of the glass panel and will not be covered under warranty.
Samsung claims that it is my fault due to negligence, claiming that I had used chemicals to clean the screen, which can not be further from the truth.
Needless to say, this seemed a slap on the face of Samsung. They are not with the product and accuse me of being guilty. When I say that the anti-glare filter could be installed properly, they just play the standard “we” talk very sorry …
I am very tired of spending hours on the phone trying to argue my point to their representatives who are not even listening and I am very disappointed in Samsung. I understand TVs can sometimes have faults, but those flaws need to be replaced or fixed.

I’m never buying another Samsung product again, because the company is not behind it

I have literally followed the prices of HDTV for about a year, and there is no better time for an update! Samsung has just released its new series “C”, and somehow they are considerably less expensive than their pre-existing models! Most websites are selling this HDTV for $ 800 +, low price below Amazon is lower than the rest of the market. I bought here on Amazon, and received my HDTV in 5 days (could be 4 days, but I had school all day). CEVA did the shipping for my HDTV, I was wary at first because I treated only with UPS and FedEx. However, CEVA provided excellent customer service as they did contact me and I verbally specified delivery time. Packaging was very effective, and surprisingly light too!

For those who prefer to use TV stand, you have to assemble yourself. Extremely easy to install though! All that took was 9 screws (already in the box) and I recommend using a power screwdriver. Directions said it needed two people, I did it alone! I was eager to connect my PS3 via HDMI cable and experience the wonderful world of 1080p.

Okay, now for the specific HDTV and why it deserves a place in your living room – As I mentioned before, until my purchase I have largely followed the quality and price of other HDTVs. The Samsung 530, 550, 630, 650. The Samsung 630 is the best deal for your money, here’s why: The Series 5 is less expensive, but offers only time refresh of 60Hz compared to 630 which is 120Hz. This is a big difference, and means that the display HDTV with 120Hz at least twice as many frames per second film is not only sporty, very fluid and realistic. Another difference is the response time, where the 5 Series has a 6ms response time, the 6 Series has a response time of 4ms. And if you’re a player, a difference of 2 ms can make a big difference. So why the Samsung 630 and not 650? The only difference is now the contrast ratio. The 630 comes with a 80,000:1 contrast ratio, which in my opinion, still creates an extraordinary depth to the display. contrast ratio TV are starting to become stable at around 70,000 to 100,000 range (or much higher for the LEDs). Whereas three years ago, the maximum was about 10,000, but kept growing steadily. So this is very future-proof HDTV. Yes, the 650 has a higher contrast ratio, but it’s worth the extra $ $ 200 something?

After all, if you’re not worried about the price, go all out and buy an HDTV LED. But if you want to shop smart, this HDTV is the way to go.

I did a lot of research on television in this price range. I just bought a plasma and LCD before, and this TV blows them all away. This is a great price, size and name brand TV. You can not really go wrong, it will certainly be satisfied. Setting 120Hz Clear works best, otherwise give your content a TV soap opera look strange, then, or is set to Clear or turn it off. This LCD works great with a PS3 also, and supports the resolution 1080p/24hz, so when you look blurays, the picture is clear. If there is any delay in entering the game (press the button to delay action on the screen), try to set the source name of your PS3 to PC, seems to answer that question pretty well.
The sound of this TV is very strong and clear, although when I look blurays up the volume to hear dialog, which then makes the action sequences really strong, but not a big problem.
The design of this TV is simply awesome. It has a glass bezel and gloss table top, certainly one of the best looking TV I’ve ever seen. The stand also swivels, which is something that every TV should have, but usually do not.
The remote works well and is very robust. The on-screen menus are very clear and also provide descriptions of most of the settings so you do not need to try to understand what to do with certain settings.
Its a panel rather thin and light too, so if your assembly, it should remain fairly flat on the wall.
I have nothing but positives to say about this series, its worth every penny, and are usually very critical about electronics, but I’d recommend this LCD to anyone. It does not seem that big box, but after a week of playing with color settings, I think the framework has been perfected.

To be my first HDTV, I am more than happy with my purchase. I was debating for months to get the LN40B630, but the price was back below 800 U.S. dollars. Search Amazon, I saw the model year for less than the model of last year, so I decided it was time to get one. I am more than impressed by what this TV can do, I have already connected the DVD player and PS3 up to it. Images are absoulutley outstanding – I feel as if you were really there. Reading reviews from last year’s model, I saw negative comments about the sound quality, model year, in my opinion, exceeds expectations.

Amazon gave this to me in less than a week with the super saver shipping – could not ask for better. Stand out of the box was easy to install: just slip the TV guide on the stand, and you’re screwed. Setup up was easy, the only thing that I have a problem with that is that you can go directly to a different source / input the unless the TV is collecting signals from the device. Mass in other plants and then having to select the new entry is a bit ‘annoying, because you lose the boot unless you leave it on the input. Not sure if I calibrated right even though at this point, it seems fine, looks fantastic with some of the default settings. The manual is not very informative in determining the most options, still under new HDTV should I look for guides on how to optimize it for different viewing situations.

I can not say for certain if this TV is better than the rest or as a match, but side by side for electronic stores had the best film in my opinion and my spouse. Allshare functionality is also a nice addition: they can stream files from my network devices to a TV with only having to run an Ethernet cable to the router. In conclusion, I think this TV will be more than enough for at least the next three years until I consider an upgrade, and I mean to update ^ BIGGER. ^ Thank you Samsung!

This TV is great for small kitchen or a small TV for a room or a room for children. The remote is simple and concise. Installation is a breeze. Wall mounts easily. The image is excellent. I have had this TV less than a day and I consider this my best buying from Amazon. It took me a total of 15 minutes to get the subscriber base, cable connected and programmed. I looked at RCA, LG, Vizio, Samsung and many others and I am very happy with my choice. I have a small apartment and my TV on a TV rolling cart so I can return when I finish watching it. So, I was impressed with the wide base and stability. The TV I had before was a 15-inch Coby, and while this is a good TV, you can not compare to this. I would suggest to add speakers to buy. Altec Lansing speakers I ordered it from Amazon before and they work perfectly with this TV. The hook speakers into headphone jack on the back of the TV and you still have a headphone jack on the speakers. The appearance of the TV is great and the size is just right. G25 pannasonic This is amazing. Crisp and clear picture. The colors are amazing, unlike an LCD. You would never know the difference unless you see a plasma. Unfortunately plasmas obtained a bad rap years ago and people shy away from them. This model (as do others, including Samsung) have retention devices for image deletion. Follow the break for the first 100 hours and have nothing to worry about. The sound levels arent bad, you probably have a surround system anyway so it dont matter. This picture is always better, as it breaks in all the demo store are usually pretty crappy and plasmas are off to the side. If shops use a good setup and composed in his incredible set of those would sell, but most people comes to the big screen LCD or bright LED. This TV is bright and colors are unmatched. Hockey games and fast pace sports are crap on the LCD, but plasma when hockey players stop, you can see every piece of ice flying through the air. Plasmas are less money and the best photo of an LCD, why buy an LCD? I looked at the Samsung, but have a representative realllly bad for buzzing. Get it, dial in the settings and you too will be swept away.

My wife and I bought this TV bought two weeks ago and we were very satisfied so far. This was our first big-screen/HDTV and we were glad we chose this TV. We were able to find it for $ 1,000 on sale at Nebraska Furniture Mart.

I was very impressed with the quality of color TV. The depth of color, especially blacks, they make me happy that we chose a plasma over an LCD. In addition, the 600 Hz refresh rate also blows away the “state of the art” 240 Hz on the LCD / LED. There are movements uncomfortable watching this TV as shown in the LCD / LED TV in stores.

The sound quality of this TV is good, I read a lot of reviews that say they have similar models of Panasonic horrible sound quality. Unless you do not expect Bose quality sound from the TV, the sound is fine and actually better than our previous CRT TV. Not a big problem for me if the sound is not Bose-quality, I prefer to pay less for TV than have to pay more for a built-in speaker upgrade.

I really do not think that THX is that big of a deal. THX picture mode is nice, but I prefer the custom settings of photos I self-calibrated for my preferences on the TV. All cerfitication THX really means to me is that the TV your buying is one of the higher-end models of the manufacturer.

We had a problem with a couple of white pixels completely during the first night we had the TV. We were worried at first, but was more than a week and we had no problems. I have heard that plasma TVs may take some time to run at full speed (or something to that effect), so we were not too concerned.

The only other thing I noticed on TV is making a slight buzzing sound during operation. I read this is standard with all plasma TVs. It is not really clear that if you are really close to the TV and have the sound way down. And ‘much less if you ask me and I would not let him change his mind between buying a plasma and buy an LCD / LED TV.

I was the proud owner of a Panasonic 42 PZ 700, the high end of Pana. I was able to move through the ocean, and I had to buy a new one. As I need a bigger screen for a limited budget, I decided to try the new G25. It is a very good choice, with only minor problems.

Pros:
- The quality of the images compelling. I was really impressed for a TV at this price. black levels and colors also significantly improved compared to the PZ700
- Easy to use, possibility of installing sufficient
- Good upscaling
- “Lightweight and fresh, at least compared to my heavy and warm PZ700.

Cons:
- The sound is terrible. It is even difficult to distinguish the words sometimes. Should I turn on my home theater almost all the time. I do not know if it is above or below standard for this price range, but is absolutely nothing like the PZ, which had a nice 2 1 integrated audio system.
- “Skype Ready” and … only ready hardware. For the moment I have a beautiful “will be available” message as soon as possible.
- Media Player plays only local (ie, SD) files. It is not possible (at least for now) to make it play content from the Ethernet jack

Overall, I am very happy with this product, please. But you need an external sound system.

The picture quality is exceptional adjustments, there are many to make the image the look you want. Other adjustments include audio and settings for the features. Full HD 1080p only makes it even better. Sony advertises this TV with the environment “sensor that detects the lighting situation in your room so that adjusts the backlight of the TV to compensate. I did some tests with the sensor on or off and has not done that much difference, but the sensor working environment will decrease the backlight of the TV, if you’re in a dark room (or night) and increase if the room is dark. It also included with this TV is the ability to play music, photos and video from one device USB is great, but I do not see myself with it. The thing that stands out, with this TV is its design. It looks like a piece of art, once you remove the packaging materials. There is an influx of ports and connections on the rear and side. Component, composite, HDMI, Audio, VGA, you name it, will probably have it.

My only two minor complaints about this TV is that the tuning is the reactivity of the TV menu and set-up is quite slow. It is not slow to the point where it bothers you, but I would say from the moment you press the channel up button on your remote until you see the photo is actually about 2-3 seconds. Not bad, but it’s a minor gripe of mine. Another complaint I have about this TV is the price. It is certainly on the expensive side for this class of TV, but I think it is by the appearance of design. So if you’re willing to spend a few bucks more to get a TV that looks really great, this TV is a good choice.

Overall, this TV is ideal for the person who is willing to spend a little ‘money more to get something that looks great without sacrificing image quality.

The main reason why I brought this TV is because I have not spent big dollars to buy a 32 “monitor. This is the only 32″ Sony with PIP available in the U.S. around this price. I can now work on my PC and watch the news at the same time. For games and movies, I’m using HDMI for the best quality. I do not care about the speakers, because I have my 7.1 surround system. Many reviewers complain about the V and S series, because they have weak speakers, but I just do not understand what they expect from a 10-watt speaker TV.

I can not even remember the number of Sony I have owned, but I’ve always been a fan of Sony. As for this TV, there are some advantages and disadvantages, it all depends on your needs the TV. I still recommend for the price.

Pro
-Image quality is great as a TV. But as a monitor, the average quality, not very clear even with a good video card performance. My old 23 “Samsung is even better.
-Nice design, this project looks more like a monitor of a television.

Cons:
-No clock, just a sleep timer.
-The cheapest SONY TV remote that I’ve ever seem. Personally I do not like the design at all, especially the “2 circle round” buttons for navigation, special features, and select Insert … too much packed in that area and other areas of the remote is too simple.
- “Sensor Ambient” is useless for me, I have to keep it off.
-It is never automatic off Sony monitor works well when used with PCs, have to manually turn off TV.
-No direct PIP button on the remote, go to the Tools menu, then select ….. Least on the remote control button does not hurt.

PIP users –
If you use this monitor / TV with your PC, you should pay particular attention, because you can not use PIP with HDMI to watch television channels. Only in PC mode (or VGA) can be PIP with TV channels simultaneously. But there is not much option out there anyway.

Haier HL19SL2 TV - Unacceptable Product
Received this TV yesterday and returned it today.

First impressions were that it looks quite nice, although it feels a bit lightweight and flimsy. Perhaps that's inherent in an inexpensive TV? Picture quality is OK on digital cable channels but poor on analog, with fuzziness and odd color fringing. The remote tends to repeat key presses, turning 2 into 22 and so on. If you're careful to stab the buttons quickly you can mostly avoid this, but hasn't remote control technology advanced beyond such annoyances by now? Apparently not at Haier...

However the deal-breaker is the astonishingly poor sound quality. The built-in speakers, on the bottom of the cabinet and pointing downward, deliver the thinnest and most tinny sound. Think back to your childhood: two tin cans connected by a string. Yes, it's really that bad. No amount of fiddling with the equalizer controls helps even slightly. Turning the volume up simply delivers the same tinny sound plus massive distortion - and all without achieving an adequate volume level, even in our quite small kitchen. Honestly, I've heard laptop computers with much better sound quality. My cellphone's speaker doesn't sound any worse, and it at least has the excuse of fitting in my pocket!

It's really hard to imagine how such a poor product could be offered for sale.

Thin until you connect it to anything
I purchased this "ultra slim" TV to mount flush on a wall so that it would stick out from the wall as little as possible. Well, the TV body itself is only 1.5" deep, but the coax cable/antenna connector on the back of the unit protrudes another 3/8", and the smallest low profile right-angle coax connector adds another 3/8", meaning you have to mount at least 3/4" away from the wall to connect the antenna cable.

The supplied power connector from wall wart protrudes 1.25" from back of unit before the wire will bend, meaning the minimum distance from wall is 1.25" unless you find a right-angle power connector and replace the supplied power connector.

All the other connectors such as HDMI, USB, and component video are also on the back of the unit, only slightly recessed, requiring additional space off the wall even with low-profile right-angle connectors. The headphone jack is inconveniently on the back of the unit as well, so you can't plug in headphone if mounted on a wall. USB is on the back too, so although you can play movies from USB memory source, you can't plug in the USB slot on the back if mounted on a wall without using an extension cable.

I was excited to find an ultra-slim TV in a 19" size, but I'm very disappointed because I wanted to mount it flush to the wall which is just not possible with how the cable connectors are located. I'm not sure why they bothered to put VESA mounting holes on the back of it.

Nice try, Haier. Good technology, but poor connector design for what you're trying to sell as an "ultra slim" TV.

Update: Finally mounted about 1" off the wall to make room for various right-angle cable connectors behind it. Now I've found that the vertical viewing angle is really really poor even at 20 degrees below level. The spec on Haier's website says 160 degree vertical viewing angle, but that is just plain wrong. At 20 degrees below level all the reds disappear. At 30 degrees below level it looks like a photo negative. At 45 degrees below level the picture is completely invisible.

Also, antenna channel scan finds quite a bit fewer channels than a different brand LCD TV I tried a month or so ago with the exact same antenna location/direction.

I bought this “ultra slim” TV for flush mount on a wall so that it would protrude from the wall as possible. Well, the TV in the body itself is only 1.5 “in depth, but the coaxial cable / antenna connector on the back of another protrudes 3 / 8″, and the smallest low-profile right angle coaxial connector adds another 3 / 8 “, which means you have to mount at least 3 / 4″ away from the wall to connect the antenna cable.
