Perfect for On-The-Go!
This is the perfect camera for on-the go and is about the size of a cell phone. Fits perfectly in my purse! So easy to operate. My 4-year-old can even use it! HD video is amazing. Outdoor quality is FANTASTIC! Even the still shots are great outside. Only complaint would be the dark pics/video inside b/c there is no flash (I guess that is what my digital SLR is for!) For the price, and DURABILITY, it's fantastic! Love that you can add your own memory and it's not internal like the "Flip". I've had two other friends buy one after seeing mine.

So fa so good
We recently purchased this camera and I have to say it's been really fun to use. We have had no problems with it so far. It just takes awhile to get used to the small size. You can't move it quickly or the picture jumps around. My kids took it under water and it worked great.

Kodak PlaySport handheld video camera
This unit is well constructed and significantly smaller than the previous Zi-6 and Zi-8 cameras.
The battery and SDHC changes easily and the settings options on the camera are clear cut.
I wish that minutes of battery usage left could be displayed like they are on the larger camcorders.
Another nice feature would be total percentage of space used on the SDHC. Overall, I have tested
the video during boating, fly fishing and other action sports and it has functioned well. I would recommed this
product for anyone who travels or engages in water sporting activites.

Zoom is Worthless
The still pictures are terrible and the digital zoom is horrific. I bought to capture a few trips to the water park. It did that okay. The lack of a quality zoom is huge deterrent.

disappointing...
I was very excited about this camera before I got it then I had to find out that it's kind of a deception. The problems are the following:

1. It's not true HD the only usable format to shoot with is the 720p 60fps, that looks decent, the 720p 30fps format is very jerky, looks like 15fps and the 1080p 30fps is very choppy, unusable, and it is interpolated in the camera software or something because the quality of the picture is not very good it definitely doesn't look full HD. To add to the problems, when you switch to 1080p you loose about 40-50% of the field of view I have no idea why, it's like you zoom in the middle of the picture all the way. It sucks!

2. The other major flaw with the camera is the focus range of the lens, the minimum focus distance is 3.3 ft (1m) and underwater becomes 4.4 ft (1.4m) that means you can't hold the camera in your hand and shoot yourself, it will be out of focus especially under water. Macro is also nonexistent, just imagine, you have to be 3.3 ft from the object to have it focused. This really turns me off, even the old Iphone has a better lens the focus range with 9 inch to infinity!!!! Iphone 4's camera beats this camera in every aspect.

3. the low light performance is very very bad, super noisy!

I think that this camera could have had a great potential but I feel deceived by Kodak, it's not a true 1080p camera even though they market it that way, it's a pure lie from their part, the good things about it are that it is waterproof and it shoots a decent 720p 60fps. I would return it if I could and wait until some other company comes out with a better product.

If you are looking for a toy camera you can use without worry that you could buy this camera, just don't expect to much from it. Hope this helps other people not to be deceived by this product I only wish somebody would have written about this before I bought it.

Kodak PlaySport HD Waterproof Pocket Video Camera (Black) NEWEST MODEL

By Mortal Kombat “AVPhile” (Texas)

I am a diehard fan Canon. Canon, but it has nothing to compare Playsport Kodak HD video camera waterproof pocket. A 1080p video recording is acceptable. But, at 720p and 60 frames per second, this camera rocks, the results are excellent. I used it around and in water, the blue filter aid in the water. I plan to use this for our holiday this year at Disney World water parks.

This camera takes 5MP Stills HD, so now I have a camera that can take pictures and video on demand wet or dry. I have other camera in its class, as Flip and Samsung both do not compare, even at 720p 60 frames per second. $ 150.00 pricetag is also very convenient.

Easy to carry, easy to use to move files from your camera to your computer or directly on YouTube. Nightvision would be nice, but most of my recordings are in now. Bottom line great camera and I have no control to speak of.

I’ve been waiting for this to be released for several months, and was surprised when I saw the notice that the shipment date has been moved a month. I had this camera for only about 12 hours, but have spent several hours with it so far, and it was definitely worth waiting for. I tested the Flip Mino, but decided to wait to get out because of the ability to use SD cards and also to remove and replace the battery a little ‘cheap.
I’m really glad I waited, and here’s why.

* The picture quality is fantastic. I uploaded a few things to Youtube, and the picture is clear.
* Sound – The microphone picked up a good variety of sounds from office sounds (people typing, etc.) to a surprise party aloud with clarity.
* Size – It ‘really small. E ‘wide and flat. Fits into my jeans pocket and in his shirt pocket as well.
* Battery – I’m waiting to see how long it lasts, but you load in about an hour and 45 minutes when connected to the wall.
* Software – I’m pretty impressed. It ‘simple, but that is more or less what I need to do. I spent about 30 minutes playing with it. The video uploaded quickly. It allowed for basic editing, color correction and enhancement, etc. It allows direct upload to Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and Vimeo.
* Build Quality – It ‘robust. Not heavy, but definitely solid. I like the rubberized surface, I can imagine that it will be easier to keep when it is wet. I am very happy to be able to film my daughter swimming in the pool!

We have a traditional camera video, but is rarely used because it is big, the battery life stinks, and it work with your computer is almost impossible. The Kodak is a natural companion for the diaper bag and I’m looking forward to recording of many future memories with it.

The closest to a negative can be just because of the format itself. I used the Kodak software and burned a standard definition DVD to 1080p from a source and the video looked horrible. Very “blocks.” I thought it would at least be “DVD quality”, but it’s just VHS. Of course, I could just be doing something wrong. If I figure it out, I’ll revise this review!

Other than that problem, I love this thing! The other camera is being sold soon, this is all we need!

Well I thought this camera would be like Zi8 with improved characteristics. But after trying some shots in indoor and outdoor test is clear that the white balance is off. The white walls look blue-ish and there’s no way to adjust it. If I turn H2O mode on it becomes too red. Just take a look at this video comparison and you’ll understand what I’m talking about: youtube (dot) com / watch? V = ihxsDM3EwLs & feature = channel
It would be better if the software that came with it has the function of adjusting the color temperature, but unfortunately not included. The hope of a firmware update comes out soon to resolve the problem.

Video is very grainy in low light than I expected. I’m beginning to wonder if my Playsport is really the one used for these awesome video: youtube (dot) com/user/666evlgrl

Beyond these two disappointments, the car seems pretty solid and impressive.
