Kindle DX Leather Cover
Should come with the Kindle. I can't imagine having a Kindle without the protective cover. Looks good.

Cover Quality Poor
I purchased the Kindle when it was at the 0 range. Of course I wanted a cover to protect such a fine instrument. The first cover which came seemed to have the back portion damaged. It looked warped and felt that way too. I returned it for a replacement. When the replacement came, it was damaaged in the same way but this time it was the front of the cover. I requested a refund and have no cover for my Kindle. I wrote a formal letter with the returned items and suggested quality control look at this situation. If anybody did notice it, I have not been informed. Sad---such an expensive Kindle needs a cover. I may make a fleece bag of sorts to put it in. I notice recommendation not to leave this baby in the sun or excessive heat. Well, we are in Central California where it gets well over l00 in the summer. Forget and leave it in the car.....well, you can see. I have been enjoying the Kindle, though with the heat restrictions and reminders from others about protecting the screen, I hardly count it as portable as they are advertising. Kindle DX leather Cover ( Black )
The kindle leather cover is badly designed it attaches to the Kindle through two slots on the side of the kindle between the white face
and the kindle
On the first day I found this started to seperated the white plastic face to the point of breaking I no longer use it
The fault seems to be the two slots are positioned on the join between the white plastic frame and the kindle.

Kindle cover
The cover is very nice looking. It is easy to grip so no dropping my kindle. Also, it folds back on itself so the kindle is normal size when reading.

Nice cover, when it isn't defective
Received this cover and it had a huge bulge on the back pushing the leather up. It was like a huge speedbump. Sent it back. Bad quality control amazon !!

I would not say that the leather on the cover of high quality by any means. My eyes looks like cheap leather. However, the coverage is not what is supposed to do well. And there are cheaper alternatives. There are a couple of sleeves, which are cheaper, but they leave the DX unprotected when you are reading.
The cover DX has a strong magnet that keeps it closed (no need for belts, etc..) Moreover, unlike the M-Edge Cover competitor who sells at the price of these blocks along the zipper instead of using straps to the four corners I think lead to a much cleaner and more beautiful looking interior. The cornerstone of the system is very easy to use and I advise you not to buy other covers that do not have this technology. The DX has a relatively large footprint so that I like the minimalist nature of the coverage does not in fact increase the footprint of the device any more than it needs and fits Nice and tight.
The cover can be folded completely if you want to read a hand (even if the DX is quite heavy and not easy to hold with one hand, unless you bend your arm).
The interior is a beautiful soft suede material and feels comfortable on the hands. This is great when the lid is folded in on itself, something that I like to do.
I give it four stars instead of 5 because the appearance of the skin, is not that good, seems a bit ‘plastic. But this is still, in my mind the best option available as cover.

This is a nice simple leather cover that I would recommend. The skin has an interesting plot and the construction and the stitching is clean. It did not smell like noxiously Kindle 2 cover (have a slight chemical smell of plastic, but no less clear that it holds for the nose).
The biggest improvement comes from the magnets that: 1) keep the Kindle in the back cover and 2) continues to cover closed. It does not take much force to open, but keeps it closed securely enough in normal situations.
I read the other reviews about the weight of the cover, but I disagree. The cover itself is actually fairly light weight. I have a hard time imagining that any lighter unless it is made of a different material or made smaller. In essence it is leather, thin pad, and a felt-like inner surface of the magnets and more closures. While the DX is much heavier than the Kindle 2, the majority of that weight is from the DX and not from the same coverage.
I like this cover for its design simple and sober. The padding is thin, but thick enough to protect the DX. Felt like inner surface is soft and not scratch the screen or backup

This is the same pattern of coverage that is currently used for the Kindle 2. Since I also own the Kindle 2, I have not hesitated to order this again to cover the DX Kindle. (For the record, I own both the cover and that ‘arrived this morning with my new Kindle DX)
The thing that made me go for this cover over the M-Series Edge is that it has discreet clips that secure the switch directly and are very secure. E ‘mechanism similar to that used for the Sony PRS-505 and I find it very discreetly without spoiling the Kindle with Velcro, etc.
It should however be warned that this hinge mechanism has the potential to crack the faceplate switch on the front if not remove the cover from the front (not try to open from the back, just like the hinge allows the cover to open completely one way). However, people who had this problem with the Kindle 2 have been reported the problem and have replaced the Amazon Kindle. I personally have not had this problem, but if it’s something to be aware.
The thing I really like about this cover is the feeling of the inside which is what you end up holding the most, while you are reading. This is a very soft gray cloth feeling of luxury. The front cover folds back on itself (like a paperback) to conclude just holding something that is as large as the Kindle itself (ie not “double-width” as a binder open). The lining of flannel sounds like a small thing. However, reading is often about the “curling with a good book in a comfortable armchair,” the experience and reminds you of flannel pajamas, flannel lining more comfortable and adds to that perception.
Just a few things I should point out about youngsters toys , Content is good. I might hope to be back tracking.
