Great for a bedroom
I bought this tv for my daughter's 8th birthday. I was a little nervous ordering a tv by mail but I was pleasantly surprised. It came in perfect condition. The picture quality is great and the whole thing was easy to set up. Even though she did tell everyone I bought her a mini flat screen tv the size is just right for the top of a dresser. I'm overall happy and glad I ordered 2, one for my son's birthday in September.

Toshiba TV/DVD
Probably an excellent little TV based on other reviews. However, it can't be mounted to the wall which caused me to return it.

Toshiba 15.6" LCD
Product arrived in excellent condition with remote and instruction book included. Set up easy and follows the instructions. Purchased for the DVD player for use at trade shows running for two to three days straight. Unit looks good and the picture quality is excellent. Only one item that would help is adding a base that would adjust up and down and swivel. The fixed base can be difficult to work with.

A good TV
Goog quality image as you expect from a normal TV. Sound very poor! No place at the back of the TV for a wall mount!

Incredible tv for the price and size
I bought this in November 2009 (9 months ago) on a Gold Box. I am very pleased with it. I have a mega screen upstairs with a home theatre, but this is incredibly good for what it is. I am most amazed withthe sound quality. Another advantage is its portability. It's very light. If I am going somewhere, I can just put it in my vehicle, and take it with dvds to entertain the children at the destination (like going into work with me.) I can easily take it into the laundry and watch a movie while folding. Really excellent picture.

I am buying another for my sister-in-law today.

If you are looking for a small LCD TV, this is a good product. If you have room for a 19 “, by all means go for a larger screen. Please note that even with the abundance of the final digital signal and high out there today, many channels / programs will be transmitted in 4:3 format. Since this TV has a 16:9 screen profile, a 4:3 screen will appear much smaller than that on this 15.6 “screen.

However, if you have a small space, like on a shelf in the kitchen under the cupboards, this TV is perfect. E ‘included a built in DVD player, which is a nice perk. The image is vivid and display HD on it is excellent. In this dimension there is absolutely no reason to go to 1080p. For a 15.6 “screen, or even a 19″, 720p is fine.

In this screen size, competition from Toshiba tends to be “store brands” or no-name brands. This is the name of TV remote high-quality brand in this class (size).

What is included in the package:
* 15.6 “(diagonal) flat screen TV.
* Stand Attached.
* Remote control.
* Power cord.

The TV has a QAM tuner so you can shoot any unencrypted analog and digital TV signals from your cable company. The TV accepts coaxial and ColorStream component connections.

Pro
* Photo Vivid
* Fully adjustable backlighting and image format, as well as all the usual (brightness, contrast, audio, etc.).
* Sound great.
* Screen with matte finish reduces glare so the screen is bright and visible in low light situations.

CONS:
* Tuner is slow when you switch stations.
* Stand is not adjustable for different angles or height.

Overall, this is a nice TV for the price and has many of the features you would want. An adjustable stand would be nice, but this dimension is not a necessity. I do not know why your GAL much as he does, taking about 2-4 seconds between channels. If you channel-surf, often, this will annoy you.

I have rated this a 5 if it were not for the tuner is slow.

Since I just bought this to replace a space to kill CRT model I have no experience in the long term. But so far, the picture is sharp and bright, there is a DVD player included (which I did not need, but oh well) and its footprint is …… wee-wee-tiny lunch at my desk is a godsend. Now I have space to spread the morning paper there. I paid attention to reviews of 15 “flat screen TV, and while I think $ 299 is pretty high for a small screen, the cheapest of other names did not appear to have rotten reviews. I have confidence in the reputation of Toshiba and reviews. The unit was shipped incredibly fast from Amazon and is light as a feather.
I’ll reserve final ruling for about a year to see how it works then.
One thing I find strange is the VERY VERY slow transition of channels.

This is a nice little ‘units. I find the picture very clear and the sound is not bad, considering the size of the speakers. Very lightweight and has a very good viewing angle, better than some larger LCD is that I watched. The built in DVD player is simple and works well and the remote is very intuitive and easy to use. The only downside is that you can mount this TV on the wall. Because the DVD player is compatible with any existing wall mounts. It has mounting holes for wall mounting.
Other than that it’s a great little unit ‘for the money and works well for small spaces.
