Great purchase!
All I hoped for when I purchased it...arrived on time in perfect condition...always happy with getting what you paid for in the manner expected.

This TV is simply amazing. First of all, I purchased at a great time after paying only 99.00 with no tax and free shipping. The TV arrived very quickly and just as expected. It looks great in my living room and the quality is amazing. I contemplated purchasing a plasma due to the so called "better picture quality" and I am glad I chose the Vizio 55" LED. Granted, there is some slight motion blur at times, but nothing noticeable to the average person. The overall quality of the TV (appearance and picture) far outweigh any cons you may find. If you can do it, I would highly recommend purchasing this TV.

This is a great tv. Picture is almost too good, especially for sitcoms... makes it look so "proppy", because of the tv giving such a 3D appearance.

The only problem I've occured is trying to program this tv to a Verizon Fios remote. I simply can't seem to figure it out, and neither can Verizon.

I don't want to say "Don't buy this TV," but...
First, I did not buy this TV on Amazon, but that has little bearing on the product. I am leaving this review here because many of the reviews I read were here, and I think these points can help form a more complete picture (pardon the pun) of what you are getting.

I did several months of research online before deciding to buy the hype of many positive reviews and finally purchasing the VF551XVT. I went with this one over the 552 because I really didn't need wireless or the gadgets, and this one was in stock. When it arrived, I was impressed by its size, obviously, but it is quite thick. I knew this going in, but when it's in front of you it becomes apparent that it would be a beast to mount on a wall. On a table, it looks grand. The gray sound bar was much less of a distraction than I thought it would be, and in a darkened room, it disappears. The frame of the cabinet is a little thicker than most TV's, but being black really subdues it well. Overall, the construction seemed solid for just about any TV, never mind the fact that it's substantially cheaper than any other local dimming LED of this size.

The sound bar delivers room filling sound, in my experience, and really helped immerse the viewer into the movie. I never made it to hooking it up to my receiver and surround sound speakers, so all of the movies I watched were from the sound bar, and I never really felt a real need to hook it all up. In a nutshell, the sound is the absolute best feature of this TV, in my opinion.

On the other hand, the picture is the TV's downfall. This was my first HD TV, so when I first got it, I was aching to hook the PS3 up and watch the Blu-Rays I had bought. First movie in was The Dark Knight, and I have to say it BLEW MY MIND. Again, this was really my first experience with HD so "blew my mind" might even be an understatement. Very sharp edges, great resolution and realism on shiny objects especially. When I watched Gladiator (personal fave), I actually had to turn settings down and really mess with the settings because the character's jewelery and other shiny objects were literally leaping out of the screen in a weird 3D effect, and the faces of people on closeups looked like a bad BBC movie. I watched these movies in complete darkness to test the local dimming, and I have to say it was great! Under the right circumstances, it was obvious how nice the blacks were by the letterbox lines seeming to disappear. After all of this, I was thoroughly impressed with my new TV, although the picture on anything SD (DirecTV) was extremely harsh and "out of focus". I could let that go as I plan to get HD obviously, but it's something to note.

Then the trouble began. I watched I Am Legend one night, and it was then I saw it. As Will Smith's head moved horizontally across the screen in a high contrast action scene, there was a blur. I'm not sure if blur is the right word, as it was more of a stutter in the edges of Mr. Smith's face. After that, I couldn't UN-notice it. Anything that moves across the screen horizontally will have a few "ghost" edges behind it like your mouse pointer does if you move it quickly around your desktop. Once I saw it, it was EVERYWHERE. We couldn't even finish the movie because it was giving us a headache. I worked with settings until I was blue in the face, but to no avail. Movies were nothing to look forward to on my long coveted new toy. I was most disappointed.

Luckily, I was able to take it back. Happy ending. :)

So, I don't want to say "Don't buy this TV," but the story above is true. I took it back, went straight to the local hot spot and picked out a 50 inch Panasonic Viera for 0 less than I paid for this, and the picture is out-freakin-standing. Even on the same DirecTV (SD) feed, the picture is phenomenal and looks like it does on a CRT. I'm not trying to sell you on this TV, but I think I am a plasma fan from here on out, and the difference in the SD picture is very substantial. Last night, I streamed Office Space (oldie but awesome!) from my PC hard drive and it looked as if it was off of an HD DVD plugged right into the TV. There was no loss of quality from my 24 inch monitor to the 50 inch, something I haven't found before.

I hope this helps someone else either avoid making the same mistake I did, or at least try to take note of a noticeable blur or stutter when watching things move across the screen in high contrast with the background. If you see this, ditch the TV immediately because it won't go away.

We love the TV. The picture is great. We had it put above our fireplace mantel. We think the picture, sound, and everything about it is great! So glad we made the decision to purchase this TV. The delivery from Amazon could not have been better.

VF551XVT VIZIO VIZIO is evidence that television just can not produce high value, but those high-performance as well. Currently, the lowest LED-backlit LCD TV with local dimming capability, the VF551XVT offers similar performance to a TV name brands that can sell up to twice the price.

“The set of 240 SPS” treatment is not “real” 240 Hz, but it is actually processing 120 Hz with a scanning backlight to effectively obtain 240 “scene” per second. The function does not reduce motion blur on things like sports and TV shows live, but we found that added a video-like look unnatural to the movies, not unlike other brands smoothing ‘movement / technology interpolation movement. In addition, the display is not aligned is fairly typical for LCD televisions, turning to bluish gray and blacks in general to lose color saturation when viewed at an angle greater than about 90 degrees.

But read axis (straight) or slightly off-axis, the TV produces exceptional black levels for an LCD TV. Dark films on Blu-ray, as “Blade Runner” and “The Dark Knight” black ink produced images with very good shadow detail and delineation clear images without haloing evident. The colors are also accurate, with good flesh tones when the set is calibrated correctly.

The VF551XVT lacks any kind of Internet streaming or IPTV functionality – this will come early next year VF552XVT. It ‘also significantly more often the last LED-backlit TVs Samsung and LG, but if you are looking for a big flat panel LCD TV with excellent contrast, it is hard to go wrong with the vice.

I have studied many high-end LCD TV blacklit before I decided to buy the 55 inch VIZIO VF551XVT truLED 240 Hz HDTV SPS. This particular model has the same quality and features found in current high-end models LG and Samsung, but at almost half the price.

Service carrier who delivered the TV was excellent. They brought the TV from the delivery truck to my house and unpacked and put in my living room for me. They also took away the packing materials when they left.

I connected my XBox, Blu-Ray DVD Player, Amplifier, and HD Cable Box to your TV fairly easily. The instructions that came with the TV were very clear and easy to understand. I was able to program the remote that comes with this TV to operate my cable box, amplifier and DVD player in a short time with minimal effort. I just followed the instructions in the manual.

I am very happy with this TV. The picture is impressive, the features are great, the quality is excellent and does not cost a fortune. I give it five stars.

To clarify this is my tv and not just basing this review on time spent in a store of navigation. This TV has been difficult to find and the only place I found this in stock has been my local Best Buy, with a section of Magnolia.

Design: Samsung is known for their elegant design and this TV is no exception. Samsung says it has a touch of charcoal color, but really I have not noticed any color of the bezel. And ‘black and goes to clear the outer edge. Sits on a metal support with an apparent neck holding the tv. In the bottom half of the TV downstairs, where it says Samsung is a blue light that can be turned off. I noticed the flickering light ever so slightly ‘when a command is sent using the remote. The TV is very thin. Only 1.6 “at its fattest point. This is amazing considering this tv is a complete unit with a backlit LED local dimming. Truly amazing and a design that will have your friends jealous.

Image Quality: This is the finest LCD TVs made today. I have seen many other LCD TVs, including the XBR8 Sony and Samsung A950 last year and this is the most beautiful I have seen. In terms of image quality XBR8 is closer, but not quite up to par with the 8500. Realistically, if you had one of these groups in your house would look spectacular. The blacks are so dark in 8500 approaches the level of blacks in plasma TV is better. In a dark room, I could not tell where the TV screen over and bezel began because the screen was so dark. The colors are superb and can be adjusted any number of ways to your liking. I prefer the “natural” mode for everyday use and the film “mode for viewing movies on Blu-ray. Updating 240hz is nice, but the best thing is that you can independently control the settings of Blue and vibration. Raising the 240hz tends to produce what some call the “soap”, but this effect can be easily eliminated by tweaking. There is also a game mode that I use when I play on my PS3.

One interesting thing I discovered is that the movie mode using the Warm 2 setting is placed virtually on the prospect of setting right out of the box. I say this because I have a calibration Spears & Munsil Blu-ray disc and when I run the TV through the calibration process using the Movie mode, the Warm 2 I literally had only one to change the setting of one or two points. I have seen many people just flipping back and forth between the natural and the movie mode, depending on what you are watching, and not worry about how to calibrate the tv looks great pretty much out of the box.

I also wanted to point out that the standard definition looks good on this TV. It does not seem nearly as good as HD, but it is quite acceptable, in my opinion.

Sound: Having a profile to think I expected the sound is horrible. Surprisingly it was quite acceptable. While I would recommend a surround sound system I’ve never felt like the TV speakers were so bad. My wife has never said anything and I have never been to watch a TV show and thought, “Oh, the stench of sound.” I would say that this is an average which is ok for me considering the small amount of space Samsung had to work with. While the audio-philes can not, as the speakers TV / audio I think a lot of people would be totally fine with it.

Viewing Angle: I sit on 9 ‘and 10′ away from the screen and have not noticed any real problems with the viewing angle. Of course not LED LCD will have a viewing angle as good as a plasma, but if you are sitting at a corner that probably will not have to worry too much about this. I think this is more of a personal preference …Maybe a video-phile would notice, but my wife does not notice and never said a thing.

Reflection: Be aware that this is NOT an opaque screen is a reflective screen. If you have Windows in front of the TV so make sure you have curtains or blinds that can block the light is not enough to disturb. I do not think it is more reflective than other Samsung TV, but from an opaque screen before this was a big change for me.

Widgets: The TV is equipped with internet connectivity for Yahoo Widgets, YouTube, Twitter, Sports USA Today and many others. You can buy a Samsung wireless USB dongle to connect wirelessly to the TV network or you can connect an Ethernet cable directly into the back of the TV. I have an Ethernet cable connected directly into the back of it. First, the widgets do not load quickly. I do not know why, but even using a direct cable to the Internet on TV that still do not load quickly. I do not know why, but they are slooow. Slow enough for me to be bothered and do not use them much. It’s strange, because when I went to the You Tube widget and looked for a video that played so fast and was smooth. Samsung hopes will have a software update to allow the widgets to load faster. Now I would say that it is just a novelty. If they can decrease load times and add other applications, such as Facebook, then I think this has potential. But people are not buying this TV because of the widget, they are buying for the image.

Overall I think this is a good tv. It is expensive, yes. Does it have the best picture of any LCD available, yes. If you have the money this is a great tv. I use a Harmony One remote and works perfectly with this tv. PS3 games and Blu-ray looks incredible. The only quibble I have with TV is the reflectivity of the screen and that is more a result of my room setup than the TV itself. If I’m watching HD football, a game for the PS3, watching a Blu-Ray or watching The Office I was swept away by the picture this TV can provide.

Image Quality
A full LED backlit LCD which offers a stunning 7 million: 1 contrast separates the B8500 from other LCDs, reaching deep into the pitch black, formely only possible with the plasma. Some monitors LCD pixels to get the blacks off ink – ok for still images, but too slow to work with the videos – essentially a ploy to inflate the numbers of contrast. The B8500 However, masters of the darker blacks and brighter whites to produce a bold three-dimensional effect or “pop”. In a dark room, the b8500 surpasses LCD in the market, shy pioneer plasma field. In a moderate to light, however, the B8500 dominates absolutely.

The highly reflective screen can be annoying for those who have unfortunately made light sources or windows without shutters. An opaque screen, like the LG 55LH90 might be a better fit for some, but a matte screen diffuses the light that causes the entire screen to lose those blacks desirable ink. I can not say one is better than the other, but for a TV capable of producing such dark blacks, I think the glossy screen makes more sense.

Motion handling is better than any LCD I’ve seen, thanks to separate the blur and vibration and the adjustments very few motion artifacts. Blu ray movies will exhibit perfect as panning or, if you want, smoother and clearer pan similar to a home video. My verizon fios HD shows from time to time the vibrations when you have a good flow of movement. The b8500 can help minimize this, but it is powerful enough to eliminate evil and when set, can be made worse.

After some quick, basic calibration of the colors are vivid and mostly accurate. Noise and artifacts are very minimal to nonexistent in 1080p and 720p. Haloing (eg white text on black background due to ease next to the text) is visible only rarely fail to display greater than 30 degrees off center and increases in severity, since it increases the viewing angle. Display greater than 30 degrees off axis vertically or horizontally also causes a slight loss, contrast and color depth. Display more than 50 ° out causes a significant loss of contrast and color, creating a flat and showing important effects haloing. The range of ideal vision is 15 ° of the center, although centered vertically, the image is hardly degraded at all up to 30 degrees off center. Ideal viewing distance is about 8-14 feet for 720p and 5 to 10 feet for 1080p, even if you do not take these numbers too seriously, obviously you can enjoy this TV from any distance. At 4 feet or less, however, the 46 “model is a better choice.

Usability
The preset picture modes are all pretty good for those who are discerning and want only to see their TV and b8500 does a decent job of automatically assign settings based on input. Of course, high-end buyers are more likely to calibrate the sources of their choice or hire a pro. The TV will remember the settings for dynamic, natural, standard and profiles of films for each source. That gives you much more flexibility

I do echo rating Bearcat like him is very accurate and precise, but I want to throw my 2 cents in. When coupled with Samsung its super-thin wall mounting, which is just a glorified cable attached to two solid disks, the TV sits surprisingly close to the wall. Another neat features that I found hard to believe – When watching movies from an external hard drive, the TV can read a variety of video codec. You can read MP4, AVI, WMV, MPG. I’m not sure for sound support, but I had no luck finding a movie that I will not play right off a USB external hard drive. The TV is also equipped with 1GB of internal storage to keep files in.
All Widgits are slow, but they are sill used with the exception of video-based widgets, which I find to be too slow to load some utilities. I prefer the power of my computer, if I’m going to do any activity based on the Internet.
Of course, I would be only right to refer to how amazed I am with the quality. I’m upgrading from a 55 “CRT-based TV, and watch this TV for me is like watching TV for the first time. The major selling point in this on TV like Samsung 55″ offers is the local dimming function. HDTV I’ve seen many over the years by adjusting the backlight always get deeper blacks and brighter whites, but that simply can not do both at once. It is very annoying for me to see the TV backlight ratchet up and down while watching a scene with a brightness variable. This is where the local dimming feature comes in. This TV can do both glare and shadows, at the same time! I waited for many years to find a TV that is not distracting to watch. My wait is over with the release of the Sony XBR8, but it was more convenient, I’d love. Once I saw the visual quality of fresh Samsung 8000 series, and read the local dimming feature of 8500, I was sold on this TV and I ordered it without sampling the image. I could not be happier.

I purchased UN55B8000 on Feb 14th, 2010 after my old Samsumg DLP HDTV stopped working after 5 years. The life of these HDTVs is lot shorter than that of old CRT TVs. Anyway, the picture quality is good, it depends on so many factors, whether it is 1080 or 720, compressed or uncompressed, TV channel, etc. I saw the best quality of picture while watch news (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc) over the antenna which transmits at 1080i, uncompressed. While watching Dish TVs 720p, compressed transmission, I could see the degradation of the picture quality. Sound is very bad, it hurs my ears, should definetly have external speakers. While watching dark scenes, you might see some light throwing off from sides, but it is not a deal breaker, never bothered me so far, it is minimal. Hooked up internet the very same day I purchased the TV, but didn't use it much since then, primary reason being the widgets are very slow, very bad user interface. The 240MHZ didn't help me much as I could still see blurry image for fast moving objects, I was told that it is not just sufficient for you HDTV to support 240 MHZ, even the transmission should be 240MHZ (even your HDMI cable should support it). When I visit my friends house and see their old HDTVs, I realize that my HDTV's picture quality is better than theirs.

Great TV
I saw this tv in a store lined up next to several others from across the room. In comparison, the un55b8000 had a clearer picture. After installling mine, I did see the cloudy lights in darker scenes, however, that was easily fixed with some fine tuning in the picture menu. I love this tv.

GLAD I WAITED!!!
I am so glad i waited long enough to buy this TV. I have wanted to buy a Samsung TV since the series 6 Touch of red but kept pushing it forward as a new always came out just before i made up my mind.
I finally bought 5 March, 2010 when the C series was released and the price crashed to 96.98. I got the last one available on that day. The picture is so clear it hurts the eyes, takes some getting used to.
The speakers are not the best, so one needs to buy external speakers to be able to really enjoy the sound, but picture wise it is spot on.
Glad i waited!!!

Amazing TV
I've been wanted to buy this new TV for over a year. Now that I have it (June 2010) I can't get enough of it. The clarity and color is staggering. At first my wife said it almost hurt her eyes as it was so clear. Now she's used to it and can't believe the picture quality either. This TV especially watching a Blu Ray movie is breath taking. I took it right out of the box and only changed one setting for the color to Dynamic instead of Standard. It did make a difference in picture quality otherwise I've done no tweaking. I can't imagine a better TV. I'm extremely happy with this purchase through Amazon.com.

a little disappointed
I purchased this tv after owning a Toshiba 46 inch DLP for almost 7 years.

The picture quality of the DLP was excellent; it had a very "theater like", somewhat grainy presentation that everyone enjoyed.
It's killer problem, of course, was the lamp. They kept blowing, at 0 apiece, every year or two. I got very frustrated with that, and so did most manufacturers, who stopped making them.
But as I say, great 720p experience.

So I thought I would get away from all that and go to a more mainstream, updated LCD experience with the LED Samsung.
I read about "motion blur" and so went for the 240hz refresh rate, which videos said really corrected the problem.

But upon watching the tv, I experienced something I had not to that point read about, "Soap Opera Effect". It involves a technical discussion that I won't get into, but the result is that many programs and movies look as though they were shot with a camcorder or that the viewer is watching video tape, hence the "soap opera".

Everyone in my family noticed it. So I went back online and read what others had to say about this issue. To shapen the picture and reduce motion blur, the tv comes from the factory with a default setting called "auto motion plus 240Z" enabled. This setting is what people say causes the soap opera effect.
The "fix" for the wierd viewing this causes is to turn that function completely off.

Well, not so great to have to disable a feature that supposedly made this tv a more worthy LCD. Then, if you watch a football game or "certain movies", you will need to reenable the setting to avoid blur. Great.

I guess I didn't do enough research. I trusted that a brand like Samsung would have technical stuff together. Had I known about this, I probably would have gone for plasma instead, which doesn't have this inherent problem. I stayed away from plasma because of its old burn in issues (which have mostly been solved) and because of reports of gradual fading of the picture.
But that may have been a bad decision on my part. It is difficult to find a DLP below 60 inches these days. DLPs have solved the lamp problems by going to LED also, and DLP is a great picture, so I sort of wish I could go back to that.

Before I turned off "auto motion" my wife wanted to return the tv, but this is not easy since we bought it through Amazon instead of the local Best Buy. I will update my experience at a later date, as we have only had the set for about a week.

Anyway, this was/is a very expensive LCD/LED TV to have to watch programs rendered "soap opera" like. So I am a bit disappointed. This problem must apply to most if not all LCD technology, so lesson learned (too late)

Was my Samsung TV UN55B8000 a couple of weeks. He has more than lived up to the hype. Hooked it up and put on a Blu-ray. The type of delivery jaw dropped, and has delivered / set hundreds of televisions.

TV is only half inch thick and weighs only 60 pounds or so.

In fact, sometimes it’s almost too good. When people are viewing on HD you can see every little flaw, scars, wrinkles, stray hair, makeup, the five shadow line of make-up etc. I’m sitting here watching the news and I can clearly see small pieces of lint on black clothes of the boy. I’m guessing the talking heads of tomorrow are all going to have much better complexion.

If you like to change the TV that provides a lot of different controls. There are already some websites that will give what they consider good adjustments to maximize the pic. You can also search the tweaks B7000. It seems pretty darn great right out of the box so if you are not a technician, do not worry.

Sounds .. not particularly good or bad, but I do not want the TV speakers taking up space anyway. If you plan to spend this kind of money for a TV that you should use your own stereo system.

Some guests complained about the number of inputs. Again, how much is enough. I run my PS3, XBOX360, iPod, and the Dish box via my Denon and thus use only one HDMI.

You can connect to the Internet. No set-up, just connect to the computer first thing I did was download 12 updates to itself. They have no idea what they did, but … did not cause any problems. It automatically loads some of the Yahoo widgets. Fun to try, but … is not something that I really came back and very used. Also has some built in content … recipes, artwork, etc. I have not bothered to look.

You can connect USB drives and view content directly from disk.

I recently got rid of my antenna on the roof. I bought an internal antenna and Turk related recently that, so I can pop in more over-the-air signals to watch TV. It will automatically search and find the channels in the clear. Download also some sort of TV guide on the Internet for channels it finds.

I also wanted to see if there was degradation of the signal from Dish. I noticed no degradation HD dish I had with Comcast. The way they packaged the Comcast HD signal you could see a real difference between OTA and photos packed.

Samsung also provides software that enables you to use your PC as a server. Then you can view your photos, music, etc on TV. Took a little ’round, but a lot has been easier than some others I have tried to use.

I played with both my PS3 and XBOX360. No problem. N. pixelating. Did not bother to change the TV over to games. I have not fooled around with the 240Hz function. I just leave it on standard.

I’m sure there are other features that I have not tried. With the ability to update itself on the internet I have no doubt that teach tricks even more surprising.

I set my Harmony 880 Pro to control all my devices including the iPod. IPod menu / info to show (through my Denon) on TV.

All the above characteristics are excellent, but the main thing is … the picture is just absolutely mind-blowing amazing.

So great TV. I am very happy with it. Obviously I highly recommend it.

((Now I’m watching Wall-E in HD and it is quite amazing.))

Not perfect, but it is the closest thing I’ve seen so far. It deserves 4 1 / 2 stars instead of 5 because of the lack of a comfortable pair features missing from the remote, and the not insignificant number of HDMI inputs. The image quality, light weight, low power usage, and the Cabinet is only thin terrific. The remote has a couple of hours really bond
with it you can start watching TV and movies rather quickly without knowing how to make different settings select the input source.

Pro

* Incredible Dynamic Contrast. I feel like everyone else in the room with me. Also close to a few inches of the images are crisp, clear and realistic.

* Lightweight, only about 65 pounds or so, about 1 / 3 that of an old 32 “TV.

* VGA PC input, 4 HDMI, audio out, and a couple of other inputs.

* 240Hz demo feature allows you to view 60Hz and 240Hz on one side regular, on the other. There are also different ways of 240Hz can be selected. Great feature to play while watching with the most recent Bond movies.

* Response time of 2 ms (Sounds good to me)

Cons:

* Only an RCA set that is shared with a component input (you can use the component input jack 3 ~ or only one of them for video, then use the left and right audio). Bottom line is that only a non-HDMI video input (not counting the computer VGA input).

* PIP only accessible from the Tools menu, instead of a single button on the remote. Swapping PIP image main demands that the selection of input source instead of a single button to swap. Can only see cable TV or the picture in PIP and no other HDMI input devices.

* Touch of Color is only a light blue at the bottom, instead of all around the edges, as expected.

This is the account of revision. I’m sure someone will go into details soon and I look forward to hearing other takes on this new series of LEDs. I am very happy with the purchase, especially at 10% or more below the list price.

I have owned Sony TVs exclusively for the last 30 years. I’ve been on the market for a new TV to replace my old Sony 50 “Grand WEGA LCD projection in September I always keep pace with new technologies in the field of consumer electronics and knew that the LED backlight is the way go. One day, I visited Best Buy to see the new Sony models. I was particularly interested in the Sony Bravia XBR8 LED TV. It has an impressive display, but I could not part with $ 5K for a TV. The price factor was a great disappointment. I knew that Samsung LED models so I decided to check them too. I was immediately floored. They looked much better than Sony, the most expensive model and LED for $ 2K less. But it was really willing to buy something different a Sony television? “I would have to be convinced. I did a lot of research on these sets from Samsung. I have the demo version in shops and read as many reviews as possible. IMO, the Samsung LED TVs are by far the best technology currently available . Their views must be seen to be believed. most impressive of all is the fact that Samsung achieved that in a collection that is only 1.2 “thick.

Well, I was finally convinced and decided to buy the UN55B8000 Samsung. I have owned for almost a month and I am in awe every time I look. This set is beautiful even when switched off. But, do not want to turn off, because the clarity, detail, brightness, contrast and color are exceptional. For the first time I owned a TV, I had to make changes to its factory settings – which looked great right out of the box. In fact, I bought a DVD calibration and was surprised to discover that I had to change any controls.

Of course, the most surprising thing of his set, and what initially attracted me to it is its image quality. It ‘hard to explain the level of detail that it produces. I have the programming cable HD (1080i), which looks fantastic. On Xbox 360 comes out of you. But the images produced by a Blu-ray source is absolutely breathtaking. I was pleasantly surprised at how bright the display is in my family room illuminated by the sun. I thought that I should adjust the brightness to see the set again during the day and night vision as I did with our old Sony television. Although the screen on UN55B8000 has a glossy finish, it does a great job of reducing glare and reflections.

I want to respond to negative comments that others have reported here regarding uneven backlighting or vignetting effect caused by edge-lit LED when television shows dark images. The only time I noticed this was when the set displays a completely black background, as in film credits. At best, it seems like a very faint light from a corner. But even then, I had to look. I do not think this is a problem at all, at least not one that should prevent anyone from buying this TV incredible. I must assume that those who have experienced this anomaly are probably looking at a non-calibrated that has transformed its brightness level too high.

I took advantage of the slim design of this series and bought ultra slim wall mounting. The TV hangs, like a frame and looks like a masterpiece, that is. Houses slim case speaker adequate, producing fairly good sound quality for normal TV viewing. Obviously, you would like to watch movies through a surround sound system.

As far as other features of this series, internet widgets are pretty cool. I especially like the widget YouTube. DLNA networking feature is also a nice addition, but the interface is a bit ‘slow and not very functional. I hope that a future firmware upgrade could improve this function. The function of content library is my favorite. It allows you to view a presentation of works of art or other photos with background music, soft – ideal for parties.
